Students of the UMH attend successfully the cooperation project in Rwanda

16 students of the Universidad Miguel Hernández (UMH) have develop a cooperation project in Rwanda. Consequence of the activities developed by the academic institution.
On this occasion it have been the school and the hospital in Nemba, the Petit Séminaire Saint Jean Nkumba (Uganda).
What are the actions developed in the cooperation project in Rwanda?
The projects developed this year are:
- the creation of a radio program in the Petit Séminaire de Nkumba,
- and one high performance school where have volunteers also have been teaching Biology and Computer Science.
With regard to the Nemba school, project carried out by the UMH, this has more than 500 students. As a new action, they have begun to teach judo classes for students and teachers.
Finally, in the Nemba hospital it has acted mainly in the field of Physical Therapy and public health. Through educational programs aimed at health personnel, family members and patients of the hospital. Along with the socio-health care in the areas of Mental Health and Pediatrics.
Since when has the cooperation project in Rwanda at Miguel Hernández University carried out?
From 2011, the Miguel Hernández University UMH sends, through the Vice-Rectorate for International Relations, a group of volunteers to Rwanda. The objective is to andswer to the needs of the structures. Specially, in which it acts and join the University community in the reality of the African country.
During the announcement of 2016 have attended students, PDI and Alumni of different degrees. Among them Medicine, Computer Science, Industrial Engineering, Journalism, Psychology, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy and Biotechnology.
Coordination tasks of the cooperation in Rwanda project have been handled by:
- Mariano Pérez Arroyo, director of the Chair ‘UMH headquarters in Rwanda’.
The next call to the charity project in the African country will open soon at the University Miguel Hernández.
